Academic Integrity

All submitted work must be your own. You may discuss concepts with classmates, but all code and writing must be independently produced.

AI assistant usage (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.):

• You may use AI tools in the project. However, you are responsible for all submitted work. This means you should read and fully understand everything you submit, and be able to explain your work and answer questions about it. The instructor may use prompt injection to test whether you have fully read and understood the submitted work.
• You are strongly encouraged to complete the work independently, using these tools only as a learning aid. For example, you should not paste the entire submission into a chatbot and ask it to complete the work for you, then submit the result without reviewing or understanding it yourself.
• The written components of the project will not be assessed based on writing style or eloquence. The majority of your grade will be based on your understanding of the system you build. This will be assessed through demo, presentation and multiple vivas. Each viva will assess your understanding of the concepts used in your project and the system you have built. You should be able to answer questions about different components of your system, your design choices, experimental results, and possible alternative approaches.

Violations are handled according to QUB's academic offences policy.

Office Hours

Office hours are drop-in sessions—no appointment needed. Come with questions about lectures, assignments, or your project.

• Office Hours: Best for longer discussions or debugging help.
• Email: For private or administrative matters only. Allow 2–3 working days for response.
